How much money do I need to get started?
The average investment to open a Konz Pizza restaurant ranges from $275,000 to $450,000.
These costs include franchise fee, lease deposits, leasehold improvements, fixtures and equipment, opening supplies, initial marketing, signs and training.
For a ‘Brick and Mortar’ location we require that you have a minimum of $90,000 in available cash. For a ‘Modular Unit’ you will need to have a minimum of $35,000 in available cash.
Is financing available?
Konz Pizza does not offer financing, but we do have established relationships with Canadian Chartered banks as well as lease financing companies. The SBIL (Small Business Improvement Loan) is available through the chartered banks and requires you to have available cash equal to 30% of the total cost of the project, and a minimum net worth of $250,000.
How long will it take to open my Konz Pizza in a Cone franchise?
Each location is different, depending on a variety of factors including; site selection, permit lead times and build out requirements. However, the typical new store opening process takes approximately six to nine months from the signing of the franchise agreement to opening of your restaurant.
What fees will I be paying in terms of royalties and advertising?
The monthly royalty fee is 6%, and the monthly marketing fee is 3%, both are based on calculations off Gross Sale.
Do I receive training from Konz Pizza?
Prior to your restaurant opening, you will receive initial training on the operation and management of your Konz Pizza franchise. The training is broken into 3 stages:
Stage 1 – 5 to 7 days in a certified training restaurant of our choosing
Stage 2 – 5 days of online classroom training
Stage 3 – 7 days of in-store training at your franchise pre-opening
There is no limit on the amount of people that can attend the initial training sessions.
What form of continuing support will I receive?
Konz corporate staff will offer you continuous marketing and operations support, emphasizing a community marketing strategy. We have a full time Marketing manager in our corporate office, who will work hand in hand with you to create a marketing plan that will not only work for your specific location, but also for you personally. We want to make sure that every program that you implement is something that will be successful for you. Effective marketing is crucial to the profitability and growth of any business; our marketing team will help you track your sales and evaluate the success of every promotion.
You will also benefit from the on-going training and support offered by our corporate trainers and the on-going research and development we are doing into current and future products. Konz Pizza Inc. operates with an ‘open door’ policy, meaning that you have direct access to everyone in the corporate office to answer questions you have and assist in developing your business.
How do I get started?
The first step is to complete and submit the online application. This does not obligate you in any way to Konz International Inc. Upon receipt and review, we will contact you to arrange a meeting and answer your questions. To move forward you must request a Franchise Deposit Agreement and Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). This requires a $5000 – 100% refundable deposit, and then the FDD will be issued to you. The FDD allows you to fully investigate our franchise opportunity and review our franchise agreement. There is a mandatory 14 day FDD disclosure period, during which time Konz Pizza Inc is prohibited by Canadian and US Law to discuss any particulars of the FDD document or franchise opportunity with you. At the end of the 14 days, we will answer any questions you have and you will be able to make a decision to proceed with your Konz Pizza franchise.
Do I need prior restaurant experience to own a Konz Pizza?
The simple answer is No. While it does help to have prior food or restaurant experience, we do not require it. Konz partners come from all walks of life, and all that we require is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a desire to succeed.
How many employees will I need?
Again, every location is a little different, but on average you will need 8-10 staff, full and part time. Not all of these team members will be working at the same time.
Do I have to find my own location?
No! Our experience team will work with you to find the perfect location for your Konz franchise. We have a network of dedicated professional across the country with access to premier sites. We provide all of the information, handle the negotiations, deal with the landlord and work with you until the lease is signed.
Can I open up more than one location? Is Master Agreement available?
Absolutely and we encourage it! The first step is committing to one location, getting it open, learning our system and proving yourself as a successful franchise operator. The rest will come.
Konz does offer both Master Franchise and Area Development opportunities, to qualified individuals.
Can I start a Konz Pizza with a partner?
Of course! Partnerships work well within our system, and many of our current franchisees have instore partners that they work with. Your partner will need to be involved and go through the same vetting process that you are going through, so involve them early to avoid delays in getting your store open.
